Frequently asked questions
Plain answers about certificate verification and issued crime check records.
What does certificate verification confirm?
It confirms that the supplied reference and code match an issued record and shows its current verification status.
Does a crime check expire?
A crime check is a point-in-time result. The organisation requesting it decides how recent the issue date must be for its purpose.
Why can I not search by name?
Name searches would expose sensitive information and allow record enumeration. Both private certificate credentials are required.
What if my certificate is shown as revoked?
Do not rely on it. Contact the issuing organisation using independently confirmed contact details.
How long is a result displayed?
A successful result is available only during a short secure session. Start a new verification when that session expires.
